In pics: Indian Railways coronavirus COVID-19 isolation ward in non-AC coaches
Indian railways has manufactured a prototype of an isolation ward for treating coronavirus patients by converting non-air-conditioned train coaches. The train coaches have sanitized bathrooms with proper flooring, nurse wards with necessary equipments, electricity points with supply up to 415-volt and white curtains to ensure safety and hygiene.
Each railway zone would manufacture a rake with 10 coaches every week to deal with the ongoing health emergency due to coronavirus. the isolation wards are being prepared at trains having vacant coaches and one coach will have 10 isolated ward each.
The Railways said that if needed three lakhs such isolated wards can be made railways to deal with the ongoing situation in different zones across India.
As of 1 pm IST March 28, 2020, the total number of coronavirus positive case in India is 873 out of which – 775 are active cases, 78 recovered, 19 deaths and 1 migrated patient, according to the health ministry.
